The designer's desire for a mixer of unparalleled brilliance prompted Axor experts to find a technology that has its origins in the aerospace and optical industry: the diamond machine. At Axor, this tool is used for the production of high gloss surfaces and for diamond cutting of AXOR Edge mixers.
Diamond machine: the exclusive key to absolute precision
The diamond cut is the ultimate element of the mixer: line after line, to the nearest micrometer, the truncated pyramids are milled in the solid brass block.The diamond machine can produce 45 ° facets and surfaces with unprecedented precision and flatness. The surfaces obtained have a final quality free from any irregularity, requiring neither grinding or polishing. Six pneumatic shock absorbers compensate for the slightest movement of the support on which the diamond machine is located, so as to avoid any friction or vibration. This process is also twice as long as the conventional grinding and polishing process.

The new AXOR collection was designed by Phœnix Design. Working with the brand for more than twenty years, this independent German design studio, in the tradition of the Bauhaus style, has been honored with more than 700 design awards. “Asserting oneself through individual interiors is what I call luxury,” says Andreas Diefenbach of the Phoenix Design studio. “With the AXOR MyEdition collection, we have created a concept where creativity can flourish. Composed of a customizable body in 15 PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) finishes ranging from polished gold "Polished Gold Optic" to brushed black chrome "Brushed Black Chrome", the new MyEdition mixer is topped by an exclusive plate available in 15 finishes different (glass, metal, wood, marble, leather). That is 225 possibilities to express each person's personality.
The perfect alliance between high technology and manual work
The PVD body finishes are not lacking in character. Each color is perfected in the vacuum chambers, giving the surface exceptional shine, toughness and longevity.
An additional 0.3 µm layer increases the surface resistance to scratches, detergents and salt from the sea air.
